The Indiana Retired Teachers Foundation has announced its 2023-24 Educator Grant winners.Karla Patton, St.
Dearborn's Evangelical Lutheran School; Heather Lunsford, Sunman Elementary; Christie Andres, East Central Middle School; Tammy Hensley, East Central Middle School; and Kimber Ampt, St.
Lawrence Elementary are the recipients of the grants, which are awarded to teachers in the Dearborn County school system who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in their classrooms, per the foundation's website.
Patton plans to use her grant to purchase printed sources for her sixth-grade students to research for their persuasive and expository writing required by state standards.
She also plans to build a complete STEAM Center (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) for her school.
Ampt plans to build a Bristlebot STEM Project Kit for her school.
